3BA Basketball All In One

By Demone Gore

For the 2008 five city tour, 3BA invited some of the finest players from around the country to demonstrate to the world what it takes to keep up in this fast paced game:

Speed, Stamina, Skills!

Sure, speed is a gift. Stamina is discipline and conditioning. Some might define your skills in referring to your talent but 3BA defines your skills as in your fundamentals. The basics you learn as a child with coaches or trainers in practice and clinics.

A couple of former 3BA prototype players, David Lucas and Lamar Hurd have collaborated together to provide Portland area youth (grades 3-12) the essentials they need, to maybe one day, compete on the professional level... all in one program.

With the help and guidance from David Lucas's father, five time NBA All-Star, a 1977 Trail Blazer champion known as “The Enforcer,” Maurice Lucas and three time gold medalist, four time WNBA champion, and three time defensive player of the year, Sheryl Swoopes, have created The Maurice Lucas and Sheryl Swoopes All In One Basketball clinic.

“The Great thing about our program is it's tailored specifically for the developmental needs of boys and girls for their age group,” said David, who is co-director with Lamar.

The Maurice Lucas School Of Basketball will serve the needs of boys and The Sheryl Swoopes Hoops Academy will serve the needs of girls, while All In One Basketball will serve all youth and families. Their goal is to positively impact the lives of all people exposed to their program.

Outside of modeling for Nike and New York fashion week, David has also been in commercials for Sparks Training. Lamar also maintains a busy schedule as a basketball analyst for Fox Sports Northwest, where he provides commentary and basketball expertise for their televised show. Both enjoy their other careers, and love being positive role models for the kids.

Two more former 3BA players, Robert Day along with J.S. Nash and his wife, ex-Oregon State star Casey Nash, work as coaches in the program, just to name a few.

Nike has recently teamed up with All In One Basketball as a sponsor, providing equipment and apparel.

Another great perk All In One offers is the 48 hour basketball retreat at Casa Leon. This 7,000 sq ft, mini castle tucked neatly in the West Linn Oregon hills, offers a salt water pool, a half court Trail Blazer's gym, climbing hills and much more.
