Portland Cruises Past Seattle 177 - 157 in Los Angeles Exhibition Event

 

Rashad PowellDavid Jackson and David Lucas hit for 53 and 43 points to lead Portland to victory in the California 3BA exhibition game held at Anaheim Arena.

David Jackson and JS NAsh led Portland with Triple Doubles. Portland shot 50% from the field in the first half and raised the bar to 62% from the field and 47% from behind the arc in the second. More Game Stats

The two teams kept it close through most of the first period but Portland showed signs of pulling away and led 42-34 at the end of the quarter.

Portland stepped on the gas and pulled away to lead by 20 throughout the middle of the second quarter. At 3:28 left in the period, Seattle showing why in the 3BA game a 20-point lead can evaporate quickly came racing back to cut the deficit to nine at 79-70 by the mid break.

Portland showed strong after the break leading by as much as 20 with 3:19 left in the third. Not to be outdone, Seattle clawed its way back to cut the deficit down to 8 by the end of the quarter.

In the beginning of the final quarter Seattle cut the lead to five 121-117 but Portland ran off 8 unanswered points over the next minute and Seattle never got closer than 11 for the rest of the game.

Seattle was led by Rashaad Powell with a 62-point effort and Jamaal Miller with 37.

Seattle shot 40% from the field and 33% from three-point land in the first half, but warmed up in the second half shooting 48% from the field and 47% from the arc. Miller recorded his first triple double in the new 3BA game with 37 points, 15 assists and 13 boards. More Game Stats
